Mary Frances Gump Allan, 1883-1932

Mary Frances Allan
  Mary Frances Gump, daughter of [James] Elwood and Lucinda Gump, was born near Seymour, Iowa, Nov. 9, 1883, and at the time of her death was 48 years, 10 months and 12 days of age.
  She was married to George Allan on Dec. 27, 1903, and to this union were born six children.
  Those surviving are, Mrs. Edw. Brouch of Mankato, Minn., Mrs. Roy Randolph of Centerville, Edmond of Jerome and Ralph at home.  Two infants preceded her in death.
  Besides the bereaved husband and children the departed is survived by four brothers, Clark, Winfield, Fred and Millard Gump of Washington, Mrs. W. P. Mason and Mrs. Elsworth Gump of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Beaddy [Beedie or Bedia Ices Gump] Puckett of Potlatch, Idaho, Mrs. [Sarah] Eddie Hendley of Mankato, Minn.
  Mrs. Allan united with the Believers church more than 25 years ago and in her last suffering manifested her faith in an all-wise Savior and received much comfort therefrom.
  Mrs. Allan was well known in this community as a loving, sacrificing and faithful mother and as a good and genial neighbor.
  She will be sadly missed in her home and in the community which knew her presence.

George Allan
  George Allan, son of Robert and Anna [McClure] Allan, was born in Irving [Irvine, North Ayrshire], Scotland, Dec. 6, 1881 [1882]. At the age of two years he came with his parents and sister Margaret to the United States.
  He was one of a large family, surviving him are three brothers and one sister. They are Thomas of Jerome, Mrs. William Hardy also of Jerome, Alfred of Guthrie Center, and William of Ottumwa.
  He was married to Mary [Frances] Gump in 1904 [December 27, 1903], she passed away in 1932. Six children were born of this union, two dying in infancy. Mourning his departure are Edmond of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, Mrs. Ethel Villa of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, Ralph of Mankato, Minnesota and Mrs. Dorothy Randolph of Centerville. There are three grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
  In 1942 he was married to Lois Brown of Ottumwa, and they resided in Eddyville until her death in 1951. He then went to Lake Crystal, Minn., to make his home with his daughter.
  He came to Christ twenty-five years ago and was received into the assembly at Jerome and has been in full fellowship ever since. He daily read the Bible and continued to admonish his children to seek the Savior he knew so well.
  “The Lord giveth; and the Lord taketh away.  Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
