Orval Kinney, 87, of North Liberty, Ind., formerly of Jerome and Centerville, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Walkerton, Ind.
He was born July 18, 1910, in Jerome, the son of George and Edna (Herrin) Kinney.
He married Ruth McCarty March 1, 1932, in Milan, Mo. She preceded him in death Oct. 14, 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Delores Kanzig of South Bend, Ind.; a son, Richard Kinney of Rockford, Mich.; a brother, Edwin Kinney of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He retired in 1973 from the Schindler Elevator Co. in San Diago, Calif., and moved to Indiana.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jerome Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Lange Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established to St. Joseph County Humane Society and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
