John R. Garza, 1951-2012

  John R. Garza, 60, of Midland, died on Friday, May 25, 2012, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Jerome, Iowa. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
  He was born June 28, 1951, in Ft. Stockton, Texas and married Kandace Deputy on December 27, 1980. He graduated from UTPB with a degree in Criminal Justice. John retired from Chevron Texaco after 23 years, and began a new career with XTO Energy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved being with his family and friends, his job, and his cats. John also loved to be outdoors.
  John is survived by his wife, Kandace Garza; his daughter, Leah Hart Garza, both of Midland; his son, Chad Eric Deputy of Des Moines, Iowa; one grandson, Walker Lane Deputy; one granddaughter, Gracelyn Hart Deputy, both of Des Moines, Iowa; his mother, Lucia Garcia of Ft. Stockton; four brothers; two sisters; 5 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Garza; his father, Marcus Garza; his mother-in-law, Carole Deputy; and his nephew, Marcus Garza III.
  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be made to the American Heart Association, 3205 W. Cuthbert A5, Midland, Texas 79701, or to the charity of your choice, in John's honor.

Pansy Hayworth Deputy, 1903-1993

  Pansy Mabel Deputy, 90, of Seymour, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1993, at the Wayne County Hospital.
  She was born July 12, 1903, in Wayne County, the daughter of James and Sarah (Crawford) Hayworth.
  She married Homer J. Deputy Nov. 28, 1923. He preceded her in death in 1974.
  Survivors include three children, Ernestine Krafka of Reeds Spring, Mo., and Rex R. and Robert J. Deputy of Seymour; five grandsons; four granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Allison of Corydon.
  She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, serge, Dennis and Robert; and a grandson, Rob J. Deputy.
  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at the Randolph Funeral Home in Seymour, with the Rev. Sam Reaves officiating. Interment was in the Jerome Cemetery.
  A memorial to the Seymour Assembly of God Church has been established.
