Harry Lawson Stark, 1876-1967

  Harry Lawson Stark, 91, farmer in the Jerome area for many years, passed away in St. Joseph Hospital Saturday, June 17, at 1 p.m.
  Born January 17, 1876, in Appanoose county near Walnut City, he was the son of Thomas and Sidney Guernsey Stark.
  He married Arlie Tadlock, who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Jerome Methodist church. As a young man, he lived and taught in the Walnut City community school.
  Besides his wife, he was preceded by his parents, two half-brothers, L. E. Evans and M. H. Evans; and a sister, Nancy Ellen Stark Harris.
  Survivors include the following nieces and nephews: John L. Evans, Howard Evans, Centerville; Virginia Grimes, Tutle, Oklahoma; Ruby Edmondson, Bethesda, Maryland; Tom Harris, Washington, D.C.; Everett Harris, Independence, Mo.; Sydna Jones, Dickerville and Edna Adamson of Grinnell.
  Funeral services were held this morning at 10:30 at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral home with Rev. Kermit Gledfelder officiating and burial was in Jerome cemetery.

Fire Destroys Stark Home Near Jerome

  The home and furnishings of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stark, who live east of Jerome, were destroyed by fire Tuesday morning about 3:30 o'clock.
  Mr. and Mrs. Stark, both elderly, are at the home of their neighbor, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beer.
