Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Brooks and children of Newton spent the week end at the Richard Mincks home.
Jaretta Fox of Bettendorf is spending several days with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Fry.
The Rev. and Mrs. M. R. Gonzalez and Portia returned from Council Bluffs last Sunday where they had attended the Iowa-Des Moines conference. He was returned here for his 10th year. Plano was added to the Mystic charge and he will preach there every Sunday night and at Mystic only Sunday mornings.
Mr. and Mrs. Billy Mincks of Cedar Falls spent the week end at the Charles McGavran home.
Harry Sidles and family went to Philadelphia, Pa., Friday after spending several days with the parental Peter Sidles family here. He will be employed by the Rohn Hass Co. En route they visited in the Warren Streiff home in Gnadenlutten, Ohio.
The J. G. Morris family received an announcement Friday that a son had been born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leaming at Liberal, Kans. Mrs. Leaming was the former Carolyn Morris.
The officers of the WSCS met at the church Thursday to make plans for next year's programs and yearbooks.
Mrs. Wayne Montgomery and son, Lyndol, have spent the past week at the Joe Beer Home. They left for their home Monday, accompanied by Jimmy Joe Beer.
WSCS will meet Thursday for an all-day cooperative dinner. Mrs. Helen Murphy and Mrs. Peter Sidles will be hostesses. Mrs. Etta Condra will have charge of the worship service and Mrs. Marion Wailes will lead the lesson.
Pete Sidles has gone back to Ames to attend the summer session of school at Iowa State College after helping on the farm for several weeks. Jim is home for summer vacation since the regular school year closed June 14.
