Clemence (Simon) Starcevich (9-1-1915), of Norman , died Sunday evening, August 4th. Her loving husband of 61 years, Ma tthew Paul Starcevich, was at her bedside supporting her in death as always in life. Clem and Ma tt have been residents of Norman since 1966, where she was a respected leader of the community.
Clem's talents and accomplishments included being President of the Women's Club of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and holding membership in Bridge, French, and Gourmet Cooking clubs. Always supportive of her children, she participated in each and every one of their activities, as a PTA President, Scout leader, homeroom Mom, and numerous others.
Clem was, above all, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joys were her Children: Dr.Ma tthew (Judy) Starcevich, Susan (Dale) Braddy, Dr. John (Ma ry) Starcevich, Judy (Jack) Fite, and Richard Starcevich, Grandchildren: Thomas (Kelly) Braddy, Dr. Kathleen (Wade) Braddy Smith, Brett Starcevich, Michael (Cara) Braddy, Ryan Fite, Lindy (Jesse) Mitchell, Ma tthew Fite, Ma rk Starcevich, Michael Fite, John Starcevich; and Niki Starcevich. Great-grandchildren: Mikaela Grace Braddy Smith, Jacob Ma tthew Braddy. Clem was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Alice Simon, brother Alfonse Simon, Grandson Brett Starcevich, and Granddaughter-in-law, Cara Braddy. Clem, a true example of poise, intelligence, and grace will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be atMa yes Funeral Home, Norman, Thursday, August 8th, 7:00 pm, with a Vigil Service officiated by Deacon Pat Gabrish at 8:00 pm. The Funeral Ma ss will be celebrated at St. Thomas More, Norman , August 9th, at 1:00 pm, officiated by Father Thomas Boyer.
