Stanley Vruble Sr., 89, of Numa died Monday, March 29, 1999, at his home.
He was born March 12, 1910, in Jerome, the son of Jacob and Louise (Czahara) Vruble.
He married Matilda Micetich July 29, 1933, in Centerville. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Marlene Snyder and her husband, Bill, of Elmhurst, Ill.; four sons, Stanley Vruble Jr. of Numa, Ben Vruble of Melrose Park, Ill., Ronald Vruble and his wife, Nancy, of Aurora, Ill., and Ken Vruble of Melrose Park, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, John Vruble; and two sisters, Antionette Zurawski and Stella SenJanec.
He received his education in Jerome. He worked as a coal miner and was employed as a machinist with AT&T when he retired in 1972. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville and the Sacred Heart Parish in Melrose Park, Ill., the AT&T Pioneers Club and the Nocturnal Adoration Society of Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Miller, C.PP.S., officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. A funeral mass will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the St. Mary's School Foundation and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
