Anna Gorman & the Orphan Trains

Anna Gorman (1871-1937), who arrived in Jerome on an Orphan Train, lived with James and Maria (Sidles) Pendergast in Jerome for the rest of her life.  She was a Sunday School teacher and benefactor of the Methodist Church,  Jerome Postmaster (1906-1912), and a friend of everyone.
The orpan trains were an interesting aspect of the late 1800s and early 1900s in America.  The IAGenWeb has a special project about the Orphan Trains and their website provides much interesting information about the orphans who came on the Orphan Trains to Iowa.
