Roy Lovejoy Davison, 1891-1979

  Roy Lovejoy Davison, 88, a retired farmer and Appanoose County employee, who had resided at 423 East Van Buren Street in Centerville, died at the home of his daughter [Bethel Ballanger] near Coatsville [Schuyler County], Mo., Wednesday, December 5, 1979.  He had been in ill health and living at her home the past two years.
  Born May 8, 1891, near Moulton, he was the son   of Charles and Mary Ledbetter Davison.  On November 26, 1913, he married Regina Crow in Appanoose County, and she survives.
  When a young man he joined the Brethren Church in Udell.  The Davisons farmed south of the Mt. Ararat Church east of Centerville many years, and for five years of their 22 years in Centerville, he was caretaker of the Appanoose County courthouse lawn.
  His parents, a son Lloyd Davison, a grandson and two sisters, Blanche Crow and Flossie Sanders, preceded him in death.
   Survivors besides his wife include two sons, Richard and Gerald Davison, both of Centerville, one daughter, Mrs. John (Bethel) Ballanger, Coatsville, Mo., 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
  Services will be Friday, 1:30 p.m. at Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home in Centerville, with the Rev. Dr. Douglas Oelke officiating.  Burial will be in Jerome cemetery. A memorial to the Easter Seals has been established, and memorials may be given to the funeral home.
