William Cleaver, 1894-1977

  William Cleaver, formerly of rural route Hedrick, died Sunday, December 18, 1977, in Wayne County Hospital, Corydon, at the age of 83.

  Born in Crawford County, Ia., he was adopted and reared by the Henry Cleaver family. He was never married. Mr. Cleaver was a farm hand in the Hedrick vicinity until he came to this community recently.

  Surviving are two nieces, Helen McElvain, Route 3, Centerville, and Lola Shorts, Centerville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Shorts, his parents and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cleaver.

  Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Dunsmore officiating. Burial will be in Jerome Cemetery.
