Miss Sidles, 75, is taken
Miss Georgia Mira Sidles, 75, retired school teacher and resident of 306 W. Washington, Centerville, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital Wednesday, April 22, 1970 at 12:45 p.m. following a brief illness. She had been hospitalized for one day.
Born August 19, 1894 in Jerome, Iowa, she was the daughter of George and Ella Thomas Sidles. She attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and was graduated from Morningside College, Sioux City, Ia.
Miss Sidles was a member of the Jerome Methodist Church, the Women's Society, the Order of Eastern Stars at Seymour, and the Retired Teachers Association. She had taught in Appanoose County before going to Sioux City where she was a teacher for 40 years. The past four years she had made her home in Centerville.
Her parents, an infant brother, Edmond, her twin brother, Joe, and a brother, George Sidles, all preceded her.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mills of Des Moines and Mrs. Martha Orr of Austin, Minn.; a brother, Peter Sidles of Jerome, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Jerome Methodist Church with Rev. Kermit Gladfelder, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Jerome Cemetery. The family will be at the Miller-Wehrle Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m.
