SAMUEL PARK TROSTLE was born near the Blue Ridge Mountains of Pennsylvania on March 18, 1875. In Philadelphia, after his conversion under Billy Sunday, he was active in mission and evangelistic work, and carried that enthusiasm into all his subsequent ministry. Coming to Iowa in 1915 for a visit he began a supply ministry which extended up until a few months of his death. His first wife was Sadie Bauseman, who was the mother of his two children, Raymond and Mrs. Charales Johnson of Des Moines. Mrs. Trostle died in 1918. In 1923 he was married to Ethel Davidson of Plano, who survives him. His death occurred November 24, with the funeral at Tracy, and interment in the Bellefontaine cemetery.
