  Harold Bruce, son of Elmer A. and Cora (Leach) Fay, was born on July 13, 1895 near Coggan, Iowa. He graduated from Coggan High School. After serving in World War I he attended trade schools in Baltimore, Maryland, and Kansas City, Missouri. In 1930 he attended the Iowa-Missouri Methodist Protestant Conference and accepted the call to the Prairie Hill Church in Atcheson County, Missouri. After one year he moved to Iowa where he served until he retired in 1960.
  On June 15, 1932 he was married to Edith E. Bowlsby from Winterset, Iowa.
  Upon retirement they moved to Victor, Iowa, to be near their son and Harold became active in V.F.W., the Legion and other organizations as well as pulpit supply where needed.
  Harold passed away from a heart attack on January 11, 1978. A memorial service was held at the Spring Grove United Methodist Church near Coggan, Iowa, with interment in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, a son, Ardillo of Victor, and three grandchildren.
