I also have a copy of the 1908 Jerome School photo. My grandfather, Samuel Eli Phillips, was the teacher. He and my grandmother, Lottie (Puffer) Phillips, met at Southern Iowa Normal in Bloomfield. Sam taught in Jerome for a couple of years and then became principal of the school in Rathbun. He then spent 25 years as stationary and electrical engineer at the Galleyville (Anchor) coalmine. My grandmother also taught at some schools in the area but I do not know which ones.
